An odd space between the Newport and Balboa Beach piers. This is one of a couple of walls used for racquetball, handball or some other kind of bouncy ball game. There also are basketball hoops here. Other recreational stuff, too.

Kona Lanes Sign

Kona Lanes was a pretty good example of Googie architecture. The bowling alley opened in 1958. In May 2003, it was closed. Not long after that, the building was leveled.
